Working with the City of Edmonton

We’re with you every step of the way!

The approval process with the City of Edmonton can be overwhelming without an expert guiding you every step of the way. One of the ways we make infill building easy for our clients is by taking care of the permitting and approval process with the City.

I want to set you up for success and make the permitting process as easy as possible, which is why I review the Mature Neighbourhood Overlay with you early on. We go over all the rules the City has in place for infill homes, and I explain the approval process and timelines that are typical with these builds.

Once you sign off on your final construction plans, we being the permitting process with the City. There are lots of moving parts when dealing with the City, and things can change at a moment’s notice. You are kept informed and involved every step of the way, but we take care of doing all the work. Your plan goes through every department in the city for approval and we apply for any exceptions, and make required changes as we go in order to get those approvals. You might hear from me a lot during this step, depending on how many variances are involved. Once we have all necessary approvals, your plan is set in stone and we can begin construction!

Now the fun begins, as we schedule demolition of any current structures on the site and start building your home! Around this time you get to meet with your Client Concierge & Construction Team, as I hand off your home building experience to these experts, but don’t worry! I’m still around to answer questions, accompany you on walk-throughs, and generally keep you updated on the progress of your new home.
